COMO — The Como-Pickton Eagles won their fifth consecutive game Tuesday following a 15-0 shut out against the Miller Grove Hornets at War Eagle Field. From the early going, the game would be decided, as the Eagles outplayed the Hornets all game long and never let up, leading to the win.

The Eagles’ victory would be highlighted by Dane Oud pitching a no-hitter.

The first inning would see the Eagles take an early lead. Oud would score the Eagles’ first run in the first inning, giving them a 1-0 lead.

In the second inning, the Eagles would add onto their lead when Kevin Hernandez scored a run. This would extend the Eagles’ lead to 2-0.

The third inning saw the Eagles go on a tear. The run started when Oud hit a two-run inside-the-park home run, where Payton Hunt also scored, to bring the score to 4-0. Later on, Kobie Wright scored a run, raising the score to 5-0.

After Hernandez scored on a steal of home to raise the score to 6-0, a three-run inside-the-park home run by Tucker LeCroy, where Joel Newsom and Cade Childress also scored, brought the score to 9-0.

Hunt would score another run before the inning concluded to make the score 10-0.

In the fourth inning, the Eagles would close out the game with five more runs. Sean Carpenter, Adrian Chambly, Hernandez, Newsom, and Childress all scored, as the Eagles polished off a 15-0 victory.

As a team, the Eagles batted 13 for 22 (.591) from the plate. Oud would lead the way, going a perfect 4/4. Carpenter, Childress, and Hunt recorded two hits each, while Cahmby, LeCroy, and Wright added one hit each.

Hernandez finished as the leading scorer with three runs. Childress, Hunt, Newsom, and Oud scored two runs each, while Carpenter, Chambly, and LeCroy added one run each.

Oud pitched a no-hitter on the mound. Across four innings, he struck out 14 batters and conceded only three walks.

With the win, the Eagles improved to 6-7-1 on the season. They resumed action Friday, welcoming the Saltillo Lions to War Eagle Field
