LINDALE — The Sulphur Springs Lady Wildcats picked up a huge 9-0 victory Thursday in their Bi-District playoff game against the Tyler Chapel Hill Lady Bulldogs at Eagle Stadium in Lindale. The Lady Wildcats scored early and often and never let their guard down, cruising to the first playoff victory since 2016.

It didn’t take long for the Lady Wildcats to set the tone for the game, as less than two minutes in, Rowan Faircloth scored the first goal of the game with 38:42 remaining, putting Sulphur Springs ahead 1-0. Nearly 10 minutes later, the lead climbed to 2-0 when Haylee Shultz scored a goal with 29:55 left in the first half.

After both teams traded failed scoring opportunities, Faircloth would score her second goal of the game with 16:29 remaining, raising the score to 3-0. Nearly seven minutes later, Faircloth scored her third goal of the game, giving her a hat trick and raising the score to 4-0 with 9:45 left to play.

The Lady Wildcats’ domination continued when Rebekah Stanley scored a goal with 5:50 left to go, building the score to 5-0. That would be the final score before the first half finally came to a close.

The second half didn’t see much action early on, with both teams failing to score. Eventually, almost 18 minutes into the half, the Lady Wildcats scored again when Shultz scored her second goal, making the score 6-0 with 22:10 remaining in the game.

Four minutes later, Addy Fenton would add a goal to make the score 7-0 with 17:21 left to play. It would only take 18 seconds for the Lady Wildcats to score again when Jolea Moore scored a goal with 17:03 to play, increasing the lead to 8-0.

After eight more minutes passed, the Lady Wildcats scored again when Kylie Clarke scored a goal with 9:31 left to play, increasing the score to 9-0. That would be the final score of the game, as the Lady Wildcats closed out a 9-0 Bi-District victory.

Faircloth led the way with three goals. Shultz added two, while Clarke, Fenton, Moore, and Stanley scored one each.

With this win, the Lady Wildcats are now 18-5 overall and advance to the Area round, where they will face the Palestine Lady Wildcats. The game will be Tuesday, March 28 at Earl Campbell Field at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
