CUMBY — The Cumby Lady Trojans lost a close game at home Tuesday night to Boles, with the final score being 48-43.

The game started off close with the Lady Trojans trailing by just 3 points at the end of the first quarter, 11-8.

Both teams picked up their offense in the second quarter, but Boles was able to cushion their lead a bit, taking a 27-21 lead into the half.

After a third quarter in which they struggled a bit and found themselves down by their biggest margin of the night, 41-31, the Lady Trojans were able to cut the deficit in half. Unfortunately for Cumby, it wasn’t enough, and they lost by a final score of 48-43.

Rylee Krotky was the leading scorer for the Lady Trojans, knocking down three 3-pointers while finishing with 12 points total. Bre Morgan also finished in double-digits with 10 points. Other scorers for Cumby were Neely Hammond with 7, Kaylee Bloyed 6, Fatima Ruiz 5 and Carly Talley 3.

Cumby is now 7-14 for the season and 1-3 in district play.

They will play again Friday Jan. 24 in Martins Mill. The JV girls will start at 4:30 p.m. with the JV boys, Varsity girls and Varsity boys to follow.
