TIOGA — The North Hopkins Lady Panthers continued their winning ways this season by sweeping the Poolville Lady Monarchs in their Area playoff game at Tioga High School Thursday. Over the course of the game, the Lady Panthers would control the game and never let their guard down, leading to the victory.

The first set would set the tone early on, as the Lady Panthers got off to fast start, while the Lady Monarchs struggled. The Lady Panthers won the first set 25-16, taking a 1-0 lead.

The next set was more of the same, as the Lady Panthers continued their strong gameplay, while the Lady Monarchs’ struggles continued. The Lady Panthers won the second set 25-15, increasing their lead to 2-0.

The third set would see the Lady Panthers take their game to a new level, as the Lady Monarchs simply had no answers for them. The Lady Panthers won the third set 25-13, completing the sweep.

“The girls played a really great game. They played together, and with confidence,” head coach Danna Lewis said. “It was a fun game to watch.”

Eden Lewis led the way with a 12-assist, 10dig double-double, adding four aces and one kill. Lucy Conner would finish with nine digs, seven assists, two aces, two blocks, and two kills.

Sarah Attaway finished with eight kills, two aces, and one dig. Macey Hoelscher came up with seven kills, two aces, two digs, and one block.

Harley Vaughn tallied seven digs and four aces. Hadlee Hrabal came up with five kills. Also contributing to the victory were Daylee Fite with two aces, one dig, and one assist, Stevanna Buchanan with two digs and one assist, and Cadence Money with one block, one dig, and one kill.

With the win, the Lady Panthers earned an Area championship and improved to 32-8 on the season. They also advanced to the Regional Quarterfinals.

They took on the Collinsville Lady Pirates in the Regional Quarterfinals Tuesday at Bonham High School. At the time of press, no score has been reported for that game.
