MILLER GROVE—The Miller Grove Lady Hornets hosted Lone Oak Friday, Aug. 28. Miller Grove entered the game after a loss to Blue Ridge but had won their three previous matchups.

The Lady Hornets came out of the gate hot, winning the first set ,25-11. Things got closer in the second and third sets, but Miller Grove was able to land scores of 25-17 and 25-21.

Lauren Bullard led the team with 15 set assists. Lainy Burnett had a strong all-around game, providing the team with five digs and five kills. Jaylah Roberson finished the game with 12 digs and a kill, while Harli Watson finished with eight digs and two ace serves.

The win makes Miller Grove 4-3 on the season. Coverage of their Friday night matchup against Wolfe City will be published in upcoming editions of the News-Telegram. The Lady Hornets will begin district play next week, with a pair of games on the road.
