FRUITVALE — The Miller Grove Hornets resumed action this past weekend in the Fruitvale Tournament. Though they were looking for great results, those wouldn’t come, as the Hornets lost all three games they played.

For their first game, the Hornets played the Christian Heritage Sentinels. The Hornets would suffer a 14-3 loss in that game.

As a team, the Hornets batted just 2 for 8 (.250) from the plate. Iissac Hansen and Kaden Hiller recorded one hit each.

Ethan George, Cage Hasten, and Kaden Mabe scored one run each.

Jesse Yates suffered the loss on the mound. In one inning, he gave up 15 hits, 14 runs (13 earned), and three walks. Hasten pitched one relief innings, giving up one hit and one walk.

In their next game, the Hornets played the Cross Roads Bobcats. The Hornets were shut out 19-0 in that game.

As a team, the Hornets batted just 2 for 7 (.286) from the plate. George and Hiller recorded two hits each.

George suffered the loss on the mound. Across two innings, he conceded 12 runs (five earned), six walks, and three hits, managing two strikeouts. Hasten pitched one relief inning, allowing seven runs (three earned), three hits, and three walks, striking out one batter.

For their final game, the Hornets played the Ector Eagles. The Hornets suffered a 14-1 loss in that game.

As a team, the Hornets batted only 2 for 10 (.200) from the plate. Eastin Christian and Hiller both recorded one hit each. Christian scored the lone run.

Christian suffered the loss on the mound. In two innings, he gave up 14 earned runs, 11 hits, and five walks, managing two strikeouts.

Yates pitched one relief inning, conceding two hits and one walk, striking out one batter. George pitched the last inning, striking out two batters and allowing only one hit.

With these losses, the Hornets are now 0-5 on the season. They resumed action Tuesday, traveling to Commerce to take on the Commerce Tigers.
