C-Pā€™s losing streak extends to five

PARIS ā€” The Como-Pickton struggled in their most recent games, where they competed in the Chisum Tournament. They would play in four games, but suffered losses in all four.

For their first game, the Eagles played the host team, the Chisum Mustangs. The Eagles suffered a 16-3 loss in that game.

As a team, the Eagles batted just 3 for 17 (.176) from the plate. Payton Hunt, Dane Oud, and Kobie Wright all recorded one hit each. Cade Childress, Tucker LeCroy, and Wright scored one run each.

Childress suffered the loss on the mound. In his lone inning, he gave up five earned runs, four walks, and two hits, tallying one strikeout.

Kevin Hernandez pitcher 1 1/3 innings in relief, giving up 11 runs (six earned), three hits, and three walks, notching one strikeout. Hunt pitched the last 2/3 of an inning, walking two batters and striking out one.

In their second game, the Eagles took on the Ore City Rebels. The Eagles lost that game 14-2.

As a team, the Eagles batted 5 for 16 (.313) from the plate. Childress recorded two hits, while LeCroy, Oud, and Wright added one hit each. LeCroy and Wright scored one run each.

Oud suffered the loss on the mound. Over three innings, despite notching six strikeouts, he gave up seven earned runs, six walks, and four hits.

Wright pitched 1/3 of a relief inning, surrendering three earned runs and three walks. Sean Carpenter failed to record an out in his appearance, giving up four runs (two earned), three hits, and two walks.

For their third game, the Eagles played the Cooper Bulldogs. In a close game, the Eagles suffered a bitter 5-3 loss.

As a team, the Eagles batter 4 for 19 (.211) from the plate. Oud recorded two hits, while Hunt and Wright added one hit each. Hunt, LeCroy, and Wright all scored one run each.

LeCroy suffered the loss on the mound. In 4 2/3 innings, despite striking out nine batters, he conceded five runs (one earned), three hits, and two walks.

In their last game, the Eagles played the North Lamar Panthers JV team. In a high scoring affair, the Eagles lost 13-11, ending their tournament run on a sour note.

As a team, the Eagles batted just 2 for 15 (.133) from the plate. Oud and Wright recorded one hit each.

Wright finished as the leading scorer with three runs. LeCroy and Oud scored two runs each, while Carpenter, Childress, Hernandez, and Hunt scored one run each.

Hunt started at pitcher. Across 1 1/3 innings, he allowed four earned runs, two walks, and one hit. Ben Brewer pitched 2/3 of an inning in relief, allowing two hits, two earned runs, and one walk.

Childress then pitched one inning, allowing four runs, two walks, and one hit, striking out one batter. Hernandez suffered the loss in his one inning, giving up three runs (one earned), three walks, and one hit, striking out one.

With these losses, the Eagles dropped to 0-5 on the season. They resumed action Tuesday, welcoming the Commerce Tigers to War Eagle Field.
