Sulphur Springs Middle School football action continues for the grid teams that are involved.

The SSMS eighth grade teams did not play this week due to a scheduling problem.

The eighth grade B team is 0-3 on the year while the A team is 1-2, according to coach Eddie Flores.

“The eighth graders are working hard and play at home Tuesday against Halls-ville. The B game is at 5:30 p.m. with A game to follow at 6:30 p.m.,” Flores said.

The coach also reported a large turnout for seventh grade football.

“There are 96 kids playing seventh grade football. It has been the biggest turnout in the last three years. Seventh grade football is exciting to watch and be a part of. We teach fundamentals and, most importantly, keep it fun,” Flores said.

The teams play Saturday at Gerald Prim Stadium.

Next games include: Oct 12, Sharks vs. Longhorns, 9 a.m., and at 10 a.m., the Bulldogs play the Broncos.

The teams are coached by Flores, Justin Stout, Steve Futch and Easton Silman.
