Body

As any reader can attest, a good story can transport someone to another world.

Such is the case with the latest production at the Main Street Theater, “The Neverending Story,” which has opened for its six-performance run beginning Friday night.

The play, based on Michael Ende’s 1979 novel, is a story within a story. Bastien, a 10-year-old book lover, is grieving the death of his mother and enduring torment at the hands of school bullies. He finds himself caught up in the story of Atreyu, a young warrior attempting to save the world of Fantastica from complete destruction.

The show will run for two consecutive weekends, starting Friday, Oct. 18 through Sunday, Oct.27 at the Main Street Theater in Sulphur Springs. Friday and Saturday show times are 7 p.m., and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m.

For reservations, please call (903) 885-0107 or buy tickets online at www.communityplayersinc.com, or visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mainsttheatre/and click on the blue “Buy Tickets” button at the top right.
