Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer – find your way to JP’s Classic Lanes for some summer bowling. Leagues are forming and, even though it seems early, the time to sign up is now! The Sunday evening Home-Run League will begin bowling June 16 at 6:30 p.m. Teams will have four members in any combination of male/female. The final competition day will be Aug. 25. Food and drink are included in the weekly $20 charge. And be on the lookout for special promotions.

Monday evenings will feature a 9-pin “No-Tap” league. In this format, nine pins on the first ball equals a strike. The league will commence June 10 and bowl through Aug. 26. Monday will also have a Youth/ Adult league if participation warrants. These will be three-member squads with at least one youth and one adult. Bowling will begin June 3, 7 p.m., and conclude Aug. 12.

Classic Lanes will host a Tuesday Night High Stakes league starting May 28. Three-member teams will bowl 14 weeks. Action will begin at 7:30. Bowling fees will be $25, and some very nice cash prizes will be awarded.

Wednesday afternoon will see the Senior League take to the lanes. Teams will consist of either three or four members who are at least fifty years of age. There will be a league meeting on May 29 at 12:30 p.m. to discuss rules; bowling will begin immediately thereafter. This league will conclude Aug. 25.

Thursday nights will have another high stakes league rolling. This league will start May 30 at 7:30 p.m. and wrap up Aug. 22 Entry in this league is $25 per session and this league will also feature some great prizes.

It isn’t necessary to have a full team to sign up – individuals wanting to bowl are encouraged to come on in and teams will be formed as available. Registration can be done at the front desk. Also check out the website at www.classiclanestx.com or call the center at 903885-5046.

The results below begin with the Thursday Commercial League’s March 28 session and go through the Tuesday Mixed League’s bowling. Results for the Senior League’s April 3 bowling are not available at this time. The various leagues divide the season into sections. The standings reported below reflect the current marks, not the overall season.

After a reset in the Thursday Commercial League, two teams are atop the standings, with two squads just behind. Graham International and Dirty Hands E sport 10-2 records, and The Shredders and The Pawn Shop are right there with 9-3 marks. Armin Ayers, rolling on the Hooten’s Hardware foursome blasted a 277 game to pace the men and Wilson’s Proformance Pro Shop’s Shayne Wilson “proformed” admirably, just missing another 700 series with a 699. Familiar ladies’ honor scorer Kyra Jenkins on the Tierra Del Sol squad fired a 238 game and 568 series to lead the women.

Sunday’s This Ain’t Yo Momma’s Bowling League has begun their reset with seven of the 14 teams showing records of .500 or better, led by Split Happens at 21-7 and The 4 T’s close behind at 20-8. The Classic Crazies’ Shayne Wilson was on target again this night, scorching a 278 game and 705 series for the men. Kyra Jenkins, on the eponymous Jenkins & Company, rolled a 196 game for ladies’ honors and namesake Adriana Brenz of Adriana’s Boyz scored a 502 series to top the women’s scoring.

The Monday Trio League has also been reset and WWM and The Odd Ones are in first with 6-2 marks. Spare Me is close behind at 5-3. WWM’s Joe Stern paced the men with a 220 game and Russ Boyd on the Stone & Gang three hit a 608 for high series. Very familiar name Debby Essary, competing for Spare Me, took it all for the ladies, tossing a 230 game and 515 series.

The Tuesday Mixed League is led by Cletus’ High Rollers and Irish Pride with identical 12-4 tallies for the reset. JP’s Classic Lanes’ General Manager Tarry Davison rocked a 258 game and 718 series to best the men. Kyra Jenkins on the Odd Ones team scored a 213 game to lead the ladies and Carrie Shields, bowling on Carrie’s Gang, just missed a 600 series with a 598.

I should have standings and statistics for the Wednesday Senior League next week.

Until next week, good luck and good bowling.
