I'm coming out with a Super Bowl prediction.

Somebody had to step up. I'm picking the Chiefs for an unusual reason.

Patrick Mahomes, the All-Star, All-Pro quarterback, is the only player in this Super Bowl I have seen play in person.

Texas Tech might be taking all the credit for Mahomes, but I remember when he was just a lad playing for the nearby Whitehouse Wildcats.

I recall he was a standout athlete in at least two sports. I think baseball was his first love, because his dad, Pat Mahomes, was a Major League pitcher for more than a decade.

But Patrick opted for football, for obvious reasons, he's a marvel and almost unstoppable on the football field.

I saw it back when his Wildcats played Sulphur Springs several years back.

He could turn a broken play into a touchdown and had fantastic scrambling ability.

The TV announcers seem to be mystified by his left-handed and underhand tosses in heavy traffic. I have seen it all before, he used to pull off those same plays in Gerald Prim Stadium.

Greg Owens, then Sulphur Springs head football coach, had a plan, that was to keep the mobile, agile Mahomes in the pocket.

Easier said than done. I remember in one game Whitehouse was facing a third and very long yardage situation.

Mahomes didn't panic as he juked and moved all over the field until finally a receiver broke free and he rocketed the ball to open man for a big gain. He always had an uncanny act for big plays.

If he was on the move and had the pigskin, Whitehouse always had a chance.

This Super Bowl is predicted to be one of the tightest games of all times.

The Philadelphia Eagles, an arch division foe of my Dallas Cowboys, are a 1.5 point favorite. Both teams have 14-3 records.

But just one of the teams has Mahomes.

I think he's worth a few points, I predict the Chiefs will win, 33-30.

I have been watching the Chiefs a lot this year, with Mahomes they are must-see TV.

Besides, the Chiefs were once a Texas team.

Remember back to the old, wild AFL days. Lamar Hunt, bought the franchise in 1959 for $25,000 and at first they were the Dallas Texans, from 1960-62. They moved to Kansas City in 1963 and became the Chiefs.

They were an entertaining team with Len Dawson, Otis Taylor, coach Hank Stram. Stram is famous for his comments when he was mic'd-up by NFL Films in Super Bowl IV.

I think this Super Bowl will be very exciting and fun to watch.

It's the only game on TV Sunday and will feature some great commercials.

It's just a shame the Cowboys are missing the Super Bowl, again.

I thought they might have a chance this year until thy collapsed at the end.

They're a far cry from the teams that won three out of four back in the glory days with Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith.

Those teams were so great to watch. Super Bowl XXVII, it is my favorite sporting event of all time.

Dallas won 52-17 over Buffalo and they were on their way to becoming a dynasty, until Jimmy and Jerry had a spat.

This Super Bowl should be enthralling to watch as well. Remember you saw it here first,. KC will win.
