Emma Jean Johnson

Funeral service for Emma Jean Johnson, 95, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Peerless Cemetery with Jeffrey Johnson, Cory Johnson, Brent Johnson, Bryson Sims, Jerremy Johnson, and Justin Harrington serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Wednesday , Feb. 24, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mrs. Johnson passed away Feb. 23, 2021 at CHRISTUS Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.

Emma was born April 18, 1925 in Mount Vernon, to Forrest and Sally (McLemore) Gaines. She married Gerald Johnson in 1946 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Emma was a housewife, who loved taking care of her family. She was also of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by her son, Delbert Johnson and wife, Kathy Johnson; grandchildren, Brent Johnson, Tamara Johnson Sims, Jennifer Harrington, Jeffrey Johnson, Jerremy Johnson, Cory Johnson and Shanni Burns; nine great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Brenda Kay Johnson; sons, Gerald Wayne Johnson and Joe Johnson; grandchild, Michael Johnson; brothers and sister.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
