Sheriff: no foul play suspected
A young man was killed in what is believed to be an accident yesterday, according to HCSO.
At approximately 2:13 p.m. on Monday, HCSO deputies responded to a residence on Farm Road 1567 East for reports of a deceased person. Darrell Pucket, 18, was allegedly killed while working on a vehicle when the jack he was using gave way and the vehicle crushed him, HCSO personnel stated.
Pucket was a junior at Sulphur Springs High School, according to a fundraiser for the family.
An autopsy has been ordered by justice of the peace Precinct 1 B.J. Teer, and no foul play is suspected at this time according to Hopkins County Sheriff Lewis Tatum.
Pucket was "an awesome young man and loved by anyone who knew him," family friend Lena Noble said.
