Tall Order — Large show of patriotism on display

You may not yet be all that familiar with Henly Homes, a new family owned and operatored mobile home business. But, driving along Interstate 30, you'd be hard press not to notice their patriotism.

Henly Homes, located at 1500 Interstate 30 west at the edge of Sulphur Springs, put in a tall order and Tuesday was finally able to fill it. The mobile home retailer on Tuesday, Aug. 29, added a huge United States flag to the property.

The flag is 20 foot tall and 38 feet long, is flown atop a 100-foot pole with a golden eagle on top, and easiliy visible from both east and westbound lanes of I-30.

The pole’s placement was contracted and installed by America’s Flags of Canton. The flag raising was originally slated for more than a week before, but due to delays in receiving materials for the flag pole, had to be postpoined until Aug. 29.

The business is a family one, with no less than six family members and staff — owners Sharon and Roy Henly; their son, Roy Henly Jr., Kole Carpenter, Roy's mom Mary Jane Ferrell, and Kole Carpenter — were involved in seeing the flag raised. Several formed a line each holding a section of the flag after it was unfolded out side to ensure Old Glory
