The Sulphur Springs Kiwanis Club had two speakers at their March 23 meeting, Bill Kirby, the Natural Resources Director for the Sabine River Authority of Texas and Kiwanis Lt. Gov. Denise Kornegay of Paris. From left, Kirby, Kornegay; program chairman Danny Weems and Jim Thompson, club secretary. Kirby told of his work at Lake Fork, Toledo Bend and Lake Tawakoni. Kornegay told about the recent Paris pancake fundraiser for the Kiwanis which was very successful.

Dr. Hank Hayes (center) was the speaker at the Kiwanis Club meeting in Sulphur Springs on March 16. From left, Keith Shurtleff and club secretary Jim Thompson. Hayes, a veterinarian, gave a power point presentation on the Texas Animal Health Commission. Hayes works out of the Sulphur Springs office with a territory of 42 counties protecting domestic animals from disease of a malignant manner.
