PARIS—The Texas Department of Transportation, Paris District, of which Hopkins County is a part, announced road work and repairs in the county for this week.
These schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment failure or other unforeseen issues, TxDOT said. Motorists may encounter lane closures and short traffic delays around the following:
- On State Highway 19 from Loop 301 to the Delta County line, crews will perform work on cross drainage structures, and they will begin work on cross drainage structures through Hopkins County on FM 3389 from Interstate 30 to FM 1567
- From the Titus County line to the Hunt County line on I-30 through Hopkins and Franklin counties, crews are expected to upgrade metal beam guard fencing.
Motorists are advised to remain alert and pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
