Hopkins County Sheriff ’s Deputy Thomas Patterson responded Friday to an assault on FM 69 north in Dike. Upon arrival, he found John Ernest Lancaster sitting in a maroon vehicle. While talking to him, Patterson said he 'gained reasonable suspicion a crime was being committed at this time by this person.” When he attempted to frisk Lancaster, the 65-year-old Sulphur Springs man became combative and refused to allow him to check him for weapons, Patterson alleged in arrest reports. Patterson reported using physical force to secure Lancaster in handcuffs, then, found on him multiple baggies containing 32.5 grams of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Thus, Lancaster was taken into custody and transported to the county jail. He was booked on possession of 4 grams or more but less than 200 grams of a controlled substance and resisting arrest or detention charges.

Eric Vincent Klemptner was arrested on two warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia and one for failure to maintain financial responsibility, according to arrest reports. Shelia Diann Wall was alleged to have struck the male in the face multiple times. The 52-year-old Dike woman was jailed a family violence assault causing bodily injury charge. Rebecca Maiello, 25, was frisked; the Dike woman allegedly was found in possession of a straw with suspected methamphetamine residue, a glass pipe and a piece of broken glass with suspected meth residue. She was arrested on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge.
