Policerespondedat9:49 p.m. March 4 at a South Broadway Street motel, wherethey’dreceivedareport of drugs being sold wheresmallchildrenwere inside a hotel room.

Occupants Christina MariaStocktonandTony AndrewHittJr.gaveauthorities permission to entertheroomtotalkto them. Officers reported smellingastrongmarijuana odoremittingfromthe roomandnoticedatray containing a bag of suspectedmushroomsanda glasspipewithsuspected burnt marijuana inside. Policereportedfindinga packageofsuspectedTHC gummies too.

Because of the presence ofchildrenages4months and2years,bothHittand Stockonwerechargedwith twocountsofchildendangerment. Thekidswerereleased theirgrandmothers. The suspected THC weighed 5.5 grams and thesuspectedmushrooms weighed3.8grams,police allegedinarrestreports. Both the 22-year-old Sulphur Springs man and21-year-oldSulphur womanwerearrestedona third-degreefelonypossession ofmorebutlessthan4 gramsofaPenaltyGroup1 controlledsubstancecharge andaseconddegreefelony possessionof4grams ormorebutlessthan400 gramsofacontrolledsubstancecharge, accordingto arrest reports.

Hitt also had two outstandingwarrants, onefor failingtovaccinateananimalagainstrabies, where required,andonefordefectivetaillights, policenoted in arrest reports.
