Monday

„ A Grief Share support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Wednesday

„ “City National Bank, its shareholders, officers, employees and account holders, support the Dinner Bell Ministry, feeding those who need a meal multiple times yearly since 2016. Headquartered in Sulphur Springs, CNB was organized in 1889, making it the oldest still operating banking institution in Hopkins County. The Dinner Bell thanks CNB for its continued partnership,” said Dinner Bell coordinator Judy Gilreath. a grab and go lunch will be distributed meal from the distribution area under the covered driveway (porte cochere) on the Northeast corner of the First United Methodist Church campus starting around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The menu for April 17 includes: hamburger Steak with brown onion gravy, seasoned rice, brown sugar tarragon carrots, garden salad, buttered French bread slices and peach cobbler crisp.

„ Wednesday Night Fellowship Meal will be offered at First Baptist Church-Sulphur Springs from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. Wednesdays. RSVP online at www.ssfbc.org.

„ First Baptist Church-Sulphur Springs has two discipleship classes starting Wednesday, April 10, from 6 to 7:15 p.m. The women's class, 'The Cost of Control,' will be led by Megan Ross. The men's class, 'Be a Godly Man,' will be led by George Gomez. No signup is required, and it's not too late to join.

„ Cumby Food Pantry will be open 8 to 11 a.m. every Friday at 8285 Interstate 30 service road southwest in Cumby for families in Cumby, Hopkins County and surrounding areas who are in need. Those on Pan Program can now pick up one box per month on Friday. Donations are welcome. For information, call 903-994-2689, and for food emergencies, call 903513-4612. „ Mitchell Chapel C.O.G.I.C. will host lunch from 10:30 a.m. until it’s all gone for a $10 donation. Dine in or carryout available. Menus vary by the week. Deliveries can be made for orders of two or more lunches to the same location. The church is at 402 South Jackson St. in Sulphur Springs. SPECIAL EVENTS

„ Harmony Cemetery Association of Hopkins County, Inc., will hold their Annual Business Meeting on Sunday, April 28, 2024, in the Harmony Church located at 316 C. R. 2397, Winnsboro, beginning at 10 a.m. A Memorial service and dedication of the new Veterans’ Memorial will follow. The special speaker will be retired U.S. Army Col. Joel Newsom. Folks are encouraged to bring a covered dish lunch to share under the pavilion at noon.
