WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Monday „ Christian Initiation Sessions are held Mondays at 6:30 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 297 Texas St. All are invited to “come and increase your knowledge about God and the Catholic Church.” For more information, call Mary Besze at 903-588-5652.

Tuesday „ A Grief Share support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, participants will learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability— and gain solid support each step of the way. Wednesday „ 'Corvette Club of Sulphur Springs brings together Corvette enthusiasts to share technical information, stories about their vehicles, develop friendships, to support community events and have fun! This is not the first time the Corvette Club has been a Community Partner for Dinner Bell, as feeding those who need a meal complies with their support of community events. Fan drives in the summer and blanket distribution in winter months for seniors are also included in the community involvement. Dinner Bell thanks the Corvette Club of Sulphur Springs for supporting its ministry,' said Judy Gilreath, Dinner Bell coordinator. The GRAB and GO meal will be distributed under the covered driveway on the Northeast corner of the First United Methodist Church campus starting around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The menu for March 6 includes Chili mac, seasoned pinto beans, garden salad, buttered French bread slices and lemon cream cheese bars Gilreath encourages community members to “Take care of yourself and other and by following safe health practices as flu and COVID are lurking in our midst! Wash your hands often! Wear masks where required! Get inoculated and boosted! Dinner Bell cares about your health!”

„ Wednesday Night Fellowship Meal will be offered at First Baptist Church-Sulphur Springs from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. Wednesdays. RSVP online.

„ Central Baptist Church midweek activities are slated from 6 to 7:15 p.m. for children, youth and adults. The church is located at 840 Connally St., at the corner of Connally and League Streets, across from Buford Park. For more information, visit https://www.atcentral.org/ or call 903-885-3660.

Friday „ Cumby Food Pantry will be open 8 to 11 a.m. every Friday at 8285 Interstate 30 service road southwest in Cumby for families in Cumby, Hopkins County and surrounding areas who are in need. Those on Pan Program can now pick up one box per month on Friday. Donations are welcome. For information, call 903-994-2689, and for food emergencies, call 903-513-4612.

„ Mitchell Chapel C.O.G.I.C. will host lunch from 10:30 a.m. until it’s all gone for a $10 donation. Dine in or carryout available. Menus vary by the week. Deliveries can be made for orders of two or more lunches to the same location. The church is at 402 South Jackson St. in Sulphur Springs. For more information, call 903-885-0338.

„ Christian Recovery Group meets Fridays at 7 p.m. at New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church, 155 North Jackson St. in Sulphur Springs, for those with addictions, broken emotions or broken relationships. Sunday „ Bibleway Lighthouse Church holds Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. The church is located north of Sulphur springs. SPECIAL EVENTS

„ A night of worship will begin 6 p.m. March 24 in First Baptist Church -Sulphur Springs Worship Center. The evening is designed to help prepare hearts for holy week. It will be lead by the worship choir, orchestra and band.

„ Come to the Table at Sulphur Springs First Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, for fellowship, worship, prayer, and the Lord's Supper. Cost is $5 per person. Sign up online at ssfbc.org.

„ First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs' Easter Sunday services begin at 8:30 and 11 a.m. in the Worship Center and a contemporary service will be held at 11 a.m. at The ROC.

„ Knights of Columbus will sponsor a Friday Fish Fry event Friday through March 22, for dine-in or carry out from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. The menu includes USA catfish, french fries, coleslaw, hush puppies, beans, fried okra, tea, coffee, desserts and more. All you can eat fish is $20 per person; regular plates are $15; small plates are $12; and takeout plates are $15. The smaller plates are all you can eat on sides and dessserts. Now offering beer-battered fried cod (not available in all-you-can-eat fish). No peanut oil.
