|National Supermarket Employee Day
Brookshire Grocery Co. celebrated National Supermarket Employee Day on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024.
Following the success of the inaugural Supermarket Employee Day in 2021, established by The Food Industry Association, BGC recognized the contributions of its employee- partners to the success of its operations in over 165 communities in the four states BGC serves.
Supermarket Employee Day has become a nationally celebrated holiday and allows those in the food industry to honor employees at every level for the work they do in feeding families and enriching lives.
“Supermarket Employee Day allows us to share our gratitude for the commitment and hard work that BGC employee-partners dedicate to the communities we’ve proudly served for the last 95 years,' said Brad Brookshire, chairman and CEO of Brookshire Grocery Co. “Our team plays a vital role in keeping the food supply chain flow-ing, and our company is excited to honor and celebrate them.'
BGC recognizes and celebrates those who come to work daily to keep store shelves stocked and to provide our communities with the essential services and products they need to help them thrive. BGC employee- partners serve in times of crisis and volunteer countless hours, contributing valuable support and community service, the BGC official noted.
BGC celebrated its employee-partners by increasing their employee discount to a special 22% discount they were allowed to use on one transaction on Supermarket Employee Day 2024.
Customers were encouraged invited to visit their local BGC store on Feb. 22 to thank the hardworking BGC employee-partners. Customers may also honor their favorite Brookshire’s, Super 1, FRESH, Spring Market, and Reasor’s employees on social media using thr hashtags #SupermarketEmployeeDay and #SupermarketHeroes.
