BPA students qualify for state competition

Sulphur Springs High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) students competed at regional competition Saturday, Jan. 18 at Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy in Rockwall. Twenty-five students competed, 11 of whom will advance to the state competition in Dallas, March 4-7.

Students who qualified for state competition are: Jack Bain, second in legal office procedures; Norrisa Lane, third in legal office procedures; Ethan Klein, fourth in intermediate word processing; Cameron Bear, first in banking and finance; Makayla Pullen, first in administrative support; Riley Hill, third in digital publishing; Kelsey meadows, second in digital media production; Ryan Mitchell, computer network technician; Genesis Zamora, second in business law and ethics; Stanley Alba, interview skills - associate; and Emily Atkinson, campaign manager.

Alternates for BPA state competition include: Jamie Cervantes, sixth in video production - team; Perla Tinajero, third in human resource management; and Greg English, sixth in entrepreneurship.
