Alleged stolen car left at Como Dollar General

Two women were arrested after a confrontation at Dollar General in Como regarding an alleged stolen vehicle on Saturday at 8:41 p.m, according to reports.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a 30-year-old Mount Vernon woman stating a possibly stolen, orange Dodge Avenger was at Dollar General in Como, according to reports.

After going to the location and meeting with the woman, HCSO deputies Burdick and Davis learned from the woman that she and Summer Lee Wright, a 40-year-old Pickton woman, had allegedly had an argument in Commerce, reports read. During the course of that argument ,Wright allegedly “took her [the Mount Vernon woman’s] handbag containing vehicle keys and left,” reports read.

The Mount Vernon woman stated it had been parked at the Dollar General in Como, and she had not seen it since Tuesday, reports read. The Mount Vernon woman allegedly stated she did not give Wright permission to use the vehicle, the report read.

When deputies contacted Wright, Wright allegedly told deputies she did have permission to use the vehicle but did not feel comfortable returning it to the Mount Vernon woman and, according to the report, did not give a reason why she did not return the vehicle.

Wright was arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

When running a records check on the Mount Vernon woman, deputies found she had an outstanding driving while intoxicated warrant out of Dallas County.

Both women were taken to HCSO without incident, according to reports. The Mount Vernon woman was later released, but Wright remains on a $5,000 bond, according to records.
