Friday, March 1

„ Stalking of a woman by a man was reported on March 1.

„ Gunner Ray Land, 24, of Point was arrested at a Como Street residence at 6:32 p.m. Police officers were dispatched to the location in reference to a disturbance that had just occurred and made contact with Land and the victim. The victim and a witness told officers the victim was assaulted.

„ Dekeevon Travon Younger, 31, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at 7:02 p.m. on a warrant for misdemeanor assault or family violence causing bodily injury. Officers were dispatched to the residence in reference to a civil matter and were notified of the warrant.

„ Roys Glenn Allen II, 53, of Gun Barrel City was arrested during a traffic stop on State Highway 11 east at 2:11 a.m. During the stop, deputies learned Allen did not possess a valid driver’s license and that the license plates on the vehicle did not belong to that vehicle. Allen was charged with driving while license invalid.

„ Elhadji A. Cisse, 53, of DeSoto was arrested during a traffic stop on Interstate 30 west near mile marker 122 at 11:54 p.m. State troopers stopped the vehicle for light violations. License plate lamps were also defective. Upon contact, troopers noticed the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Cisse admitted to had smoked marijuana inside the vehicle. Troopers located a bag containing suspected marijuana inside a small cigar pouch in the console. They also located a bag containing an unknown brown, powder-like substance. The bag was seized and analysis is pending at the DPS crime lab. During a routine records check, Cisse’s driver’s license was found to be suspended. He was also unable to provide proof of financial responsibility. Cisse was charged with possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana and driving while license invalid with a previous conviction.

Saturday, March 2

„ Officers were made aware of the possible location of a wanted person on Kirtle Street at 9:35 p.m. They contracted and took Emilio Chavez Camacho into custody on warrants for no driver’s license and two speeding warrants.

„ Cody Glenn Walters, 49, of Grand Prairie was arrested at 11:19 p.m. during a traffic stop on westbound I-30 near mile marker 131. Walters was stopped for speeding above the posted limit. The trooper smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and conducted a probable cause search, locating a plastic bag and a glass jar containing marijuana, as well as a metal can containing marijuana pipes. Walters was charged with possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana.

„ James Chynell King, 60, of Cason, Texas was arrested during a traffic stop on SH-11 west at the bridges at 7:55 p.m. on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and displaying altered, fictitious or obscured license plates. As Deputy Drew Fisher approached the vehicle, King opened the driver’s door. Upon contact with Davis, Dep. Fisher observed marijuana in the door pocket and took him into custody.

„ Shatannica Shantel Bell, 32, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at 4:48 p.m. during a traffic stop on eastbound I-30 near mile marker 118. The vehicle, driven by Bell, was stopped for speeding. Bell claimed she did not have her driver’s license with her. When the trooper ran the name and date of birth provided, the photo did not match Bell’s appearance. She then stated her actual name was Shatannica Shantel Bell. She was taken into custody for failing to identify by providing false information, which was upgraded to failure to identify as a fugitive from justice after Bell was found to have two SSPD warrants for failing to maintain financial responsibility when her driver’s license number was checked.

Sunday, March 3

„ Burglary of a habitation resulting in theft of two crossbows, a game camera, Wii game console, toolbox, bag of tools, headlights and 120-piece socket set was reported on Jefferson Street March 3.

Eric Lee Cawthron, 19, ofWinnsborowasarrested byWinnsboroPDat2:25 a.m. and transported to HopkinsCountyonawarrantforpossessionofdrug paraphernalia.

Monday, March 4

„ Wesley James Chester, 41, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at his residence at 10:15 a.m. on a probation violation warrant.

„ Sulphur Springs Police contacted Jack Barnett Landers Jr. at his West Industrial Drive residence and took the 76-year-old into custody at 1:23 p.m. on a third-degree felony terroristic threat warrant.
