Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement activity this week included:

Tuesday, June 20

„ Hopkins County Sheriff ’s Office Deputy Phillip Ryan took Jamar Jaray Rose into custody at 215 p.m. and transported the 19-year-old Paris resident to Hopkins County jail. Rose was booked in at 3:53 p.m. on Class A misdemeanor warrants for unlawful carrying of a weapon and eveading arrest or detention, and a Class B misdemeanor warrant for possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana. Bond was recommended to be set at $2,000 on the Class A charges and at $1,000 on the Class B charge, according to arrest reports.

„ Theft of a firearm was reported on West Industrial Drive March 15.

„ Theft of two rolls of the metal horse fencing, scaffolding, a framing nail gun, plastic diesel can, and a truck toolbox with diesel tank built in was reported.

„ Ryan Duane Abernathy was stopped at 11:58 p.m. on Main Street for an expired registration. After contacting the 33-yearold Sulphur Springs man, Sulphur Springs Police Officer Robble Accosta learned the man did not have liability insurance nor was he licensed to drive the vehicle. He was arrested on a driver's license charge, according to arrest reports.

„ Nessica Rachele McPherson was transferred from Lamar County jail to Hopkins County jail Tuesday. The 49-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was booked on a Hopkins County warrant for violation of probation on a felony possession of 4 grams or more but less than 200 grams of a Penalty Group 1/1-B controlled substance charge, Deputy Philip Ryan noted in arrest reports.

„ Deputies responded at 6:52 a.m. to a vehicle crash on State Highway 19 north at FM 1536 .

„ Deputies responded to reports of livestock out on FM 1537 at 7:24 a.m., FM 3389 at FM 1567 at 9:15 a.m., on Interstate 30 east at mile marker 108 in Cumby at 9:22 a.m., at Posey Baptist Church at 8:58 p.m. Posey Baptist Church at 8:58 p.m., FM 275 north of Cumby at 9:07 p.m.

„ Officials were notified of debris in the road at 10:05 a.m. on Interstate 30 west near mile marker 113 and at 5:29 p.m. on County Road 4761. A traffic hazard was reported on State Highway 11 east in Como at 4:05 a.m.

„ Deputies were dispatched to disturbances on FM 2560 at 11:38 a.m. and County Road 1100 at 11:25 p.m.

„ Hopkins County firefighters responded from 1:04 to 1:16 p.m. to a vehicle fire on Interstate 30 west in Cumby.

„ Hopkins County firefighters, deputies and state troopers responded to a vehicle crash on State Highway 19 south in Brashear from 3:40. to 4:45 p.m.

„ Deputies provided assistance to motorists at 1:46 a.m. on I-30 west at mile marker 133.

„ Welfare checks were requested at 3:19 p.m. on I-30 east at mile marker 131, at 4:46 p.m. on the south I-30 service road east of Sulphur Springs city limits and on I-30 east at mile marker 118 at 8:58 p.m.

„ A criminal trespass warning was issued for a County Road 4791 address at 4:48 p.m.

„ Hopkins County firefighters responded from 7:24 to 7:40 p.m. to a report of smoke on Country Club Road, but were unable to locate the source, according to dispatch reports.

„ Suspicious activity was reported on County Road 3385 in Pickton at 8:59 p.m.

„ Cumny Police made an incident report about an assault alleged to have occurred in Cumby Wednesday.

„ Officers responded on State Highway 11 east in Winnsboro, where an alarm sounded at 9:10 p.m.

Wednesday, June 21

„ Deputy Phillip Ryan transported Robert Thomas Miserendino from Butler County jail in Ohio at 12:45 p.m. to Hopkins County jail. The 44-year-old Ohio man was booked in at 9:28 p.m. on a warrant for violation of probation on a possession of less than 1 gram of a Penalty Group 1/1-B controlled substance charge. Bond was to be set at $150,000 on the charge, according to arrest reports.

„ County communications operators answered 313 non-emergency phone calls and 62 calls for service. Hopkins County Sheriff ’s deputies responded to 84 calls for service, provided three inmate transportsand conducted 14 traffic stops. Five people were booked into and four were released from the county jail, which held 188 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

„ Cumby Police, Hopkins County firefighters and deputies responded to a vehicle crash on Interstate 30 west at mile marker 110 in Cumby from 6:59 a.m. to 9 a.m.

„ Officials were notified traffic hazards had been reported on State Highway 11 east near Como at 8:36 a.m. and Interstate 30 east at mile marker 111 in Cumby at 12:01 p.m.

„ Deputies were asked to conduct welfare checks for someone on FM 69 north at an overpass at 12:10 p.m., on FM 1537 at County Road 3647 at 5:21 p.m. and on County Road 4779 at 9:34 p.m.

„ Assistance was requested for motorists on FM 69 north at the bridges at 12:26 p.m. and Interstate 30 west at mile marker 107 in Cumby at 10:37 p.m.

„ Livestock were reported to be out on Katie Ridge Lane at 12:49 p.m. and an animal complaint was made on County Road 4784 at 8:30 p.m. Others were reported missing from County Road 1196 at 12:51 p.m. Deputies were requested to assist Sulphur Springs Police on South Hillcrest Drive at 3:03 p.m.

„ A vehicle crash was reported on interstate 30 west at mile marker 129 at 5:54 p.m.

„ Cumby Police responded to a report of suspicious activity at the rest stop just off I-30 west at 6:46 p.m.

Thursday, June 22

„ HCSO dispatchers answered 218 non-emergency phone calls and 41 emergency calls. Deputies responded to 65 calls for service, conducted one inmate transport and 12 traffic stops, filed one offense report. Three people were booked into and four were released from the county jail, which held 187 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

„ Deputies responded at 2:23 a.m. to a complaint of threats made at a rural Sulphur Springs residence. Upon arrival, officers separated the feuding parties involved and referred them to another agency, according to sheriff ’s reports.

„ Deputies were requested to assist with an unruly juvenile on County Road 1174 at 4:22 a.m. The matter was referred to another agency, according to dispatch reports.

„ Jason Brien Demidio went to the courthouse for an appearance in county court. Deputy Zack Stew ard took the 42-year-old Sulphur Springs man into custody at 2:28 p.m., on a warrant. Demidio was booked into Hopkins Couty jail on a warrant for giving a false statement to a special investigator, law enforcement or correctional officer.

„ HCSO Deputy M. Reynolds transported Quaylan Anthony Brown from Moore Unit of Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Bonham at 9:45 a..m. to Hopkins County jail. The 25-year-old Flint, Texas man was booked in at 12:28 p.m. on a bench warrant for evading arrest or detention.

Friday, June 23

„ Dispatchers anwered 207 non-emergency phone calls and 50 calls for service. Deputies anwered 72 service calls, transported one inmate transport and eight traffic stops. Three people were booked into and six released from the county jail, which held 185 inmates.at 5:30 a.m. Friday.
