The following reports are based on arrests conducted with reports filed by Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement from 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Friday and included:

ALCOHOL-RELATED ARRESTS

• A 32-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was booked on charges of driving while intoxicated, first offense, at 11:53 p.m. on Wednesday on Hillcrest Drive north of Airport Road. Bond was not set.

• A 62-year-old Point man was booked on charges of public intoxication at the 111 mile marker of Interstate 30 at 4:53 a.m. on Friday. No bond was set.

DRUG-RELATED ARRESTS

• Shawn Taylor Byrd, 23, of Sulphur Springs was booked in on a capias pro fine warrant, a warrant for driving without a license, and charges of possession of marijuana from two to four ounces as well as charges of possession of a schedule one controlled substance from one to four grams at 11:53 p.m. on Wednesday at State Highway 19 and Farm Road 1567. Byrd allegedly had approximately 3.5 grams of methamphetamine in his possession. Bond was set at $1000.

• Thomas Harold Carter Jr., 28, of Sulphur Springs was booked in on charges of possession of a schedule one controlled substance from one to four grams at 12:42 p.m. on Thursday at Rosemont and Cottonwood Streets. Bond was not set.

• Lori Dunn, 58, of Point was booked in on charges of possession of a schedule one controlled substance less than one gram at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday at Farm Road 275 and County Road 1140. Bond was set at $5000.

• Kevin Wayne Morey, 59, of Sulphur Springs was booked on charges of possession of a schedule one controlled substance from four to 200 grams and unlawful carrying of a weapon at 5:41 p.m. on Thursday at Highway 19 South and County Road 1106. Bond was not set.

• Tommy Ray McCollum, 45, of Quinlan, was booked on charges of possession of a schedule one controlled substance from one to four grams at 9:57 p.m. on Thursday at FM 1567 at the Hunt County line. Bond was set at $20,000.

TRANSFERS, WARRANTS AND OTHER ACTIVITY

• Billy Dale Elkins, 38, of Fort Worth was booked in on charges of bail jumping and failure to appear on a previous charge of possession of a schedule one controlled substance less than one gram after he allegedly became belligerent with HCSO jail staff at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Bail was set for $60,000 cash.

• A 48-year-old Berry, Texas man was transferred from the Navarro County Jail and remains in HCSO custody on a $25,000 bond for charges of theft of property with two or more previous convictions.

• Waylon Wayne Underwood, 42, of Commerce, was picked up on warrant service at 4:42 p.m. on Wednesday in the 300 block of Park Street in Commerce and booked on charges of possession of a schedule one controlled substance less than one gram and theft of service between $100 and $750. Bond was denied.

• A 31-year-old Sulphur Springs man was picked up on warrant service at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hopkins County Jail and booked on charges of assault causes bodily injury-Class A. Bond was set at $5000.

• Maria Elizabeth Maras Deras, 26, of El Salvador, was booked in on charges of money laundering from $2,000 to $30,000 at 12:18 a.m. on Friday in the 200 block of Rosemont. No bond was set.

• A 33-year-old Sulphur Springs man was issued a criminal trespass for 400 Jefferson Street at 9:43 a.m. on Friday. Bond was set for $2000.

• A 29-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was issued two criminal trespasses and booked in on a charge of theft of service at 10:32 p.m. on Thursday at CANHelp. Bond was set at $3000.

• A 31-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was picked up on warrant service for violation of probation at 1:56 p.m. on Friday in the 600 block of Bellview Street. No bond was set.

• Rudolfo Gonzales, 47, of Garland was picked up on warrant service for a previous charge of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle at 2:12 p.m. on Friday. Bond was set at $20,000 cash.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 784 non-emergency phone calls, 87 calls for service and 163 emergency calls. From 5:30 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Tuesday, officers filed four offenses and conducted 11 special patrols, three funeral escorts and 75 traffic stops. Ten people were booked into and four people released from county jail, which held 188 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
