Pastor Jimmy Henry of Caney Baptist Church of Pickton will deliver his 10,000th sermon of his 67 years as minister at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 26 at the church, 527 County Road 2408, during regular church services.
Lunch will be served in the church Fellowship Hall following the service.
Henry has served as pastor of Caney Baptist Church for the past 21 years. His first sermon was delivered Aug. 17, 1952 at First Baptist Church of Talco, Texas.
In addition to his preaching ministry, Henry has written more than 25 published books. He also writes weekly “The Minister’s Moment” for the Sulphur Springs News-Telegram, published every Saturday.
