Sulphur Springs pastor Dr. Jimmy Henry, has released a new book, The Rise and Demise of Israel, which discusses God’s plan for the nation of Israel.
The book, now available on Amazon, delves into the results of the nation of Israel’s failure to obey God by following after other gods and breaking His covenant. It is designed to help readers better understand how the Old Covenant was abolished and the New Covenant people came into existence.
Dr. Henry has served as a Baptist minister for 72 years, for nine different churches in Texas and Arkansas.
Henry also served as executive director of the Ministers Benefit Department for eight years.
His first sermon was delivered Aug. 17, 1952, at First Baptist Church of Talco.
Henry graduated from Jacksonville Baptist College with an associate's degree and a bachelor’s degree in theology. He also earned a bachelor of arts from Baylor University, a master of arts from Ouachita Baptist University, a bachelor’s and a master’s degrees in theology from North American Theological Seminary; and a bachelor’s degree in divinity and an honorary literature degree from American Divinity School.
