On Dec, 1, 15 SSHS Choir students competed at the TMEA Region 4 Pre Area contest. These students were region qualifiers or alternates from a contest in Oct. 12 and advance to Area auditions on Jan. 7 , at TAMUC, according to choir teacher Elizabeth Cole. 'Area is the last step to becoming a member of the All State Choir. They put in the effort and prioritized their time to study and rehearse and receive feedback as tools for learning. They always impress, but I'm little extra proud of these kids for breaking a record for the most SSHS Choir students to advance to Area,' she said.
