Laura Ardis

August 3, 1938 - October 17, 2025

Penllyn — Laura Ardis (Laura Ann Womack) passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on August 3, 1938, in Marshall, Texas, Laura was the beloved daughter of Henry Eugene and Lily Cameron Womack.

Laura graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce (now East Texas A&M University). She began her professional career as an elementary school teacher before joining E-Systems in Greenville, Texas. Always an advocate for the underdog, she found a passion and an outlet for confronting injustice when she started assisting her husband in his law office.

She was a voracious reader, curious about art, culture, countries, and travel. She excelled at dressmaking, creative cooking, making a bed, and the long pause. Above all, she held her family dear, especially her grandchildren, with whom she treasured spending as much time as possible.

Laura is survived by her three children: Robert Norsworthy (Nilufer) of Bellevue, Washington, John Norsworthy of Richardson, Texas; and Daphne Hyatt (John) of Penllyn, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Elliot Norsworthy, Azle Norsworthy, Dean Hyatt, and Lily Hyatt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Womack and her husband, Robert Ardis.

In Laura’s final wishes, her body was donated to the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University for the advancement of medical education and scientific research, made possible through Pennsylvania’s Humanity Gifts Registry.
