„ The North Hopkins Cemetery will hold its 2026 memorial service on Sunday, May 24, at 11:00 a.m. at the cemetery chapel in Birthright on Highway 19 North. Everyone is invited to attend and if you cannot attend, we would appreciate your donation to help with the upkeep of the cemetery and chapel. „ The Sulphur Bluff High School will host a pep rally for the Class of 2026 at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, may 26 in the new gym.

„ The Cumby Collegiate High School Class of 2026 graduation doors will open at 6:15 at Ferguson Hall of East Texas A&M University on Friday, May 29.

„ The Sulphur Bluff High School Class 2026 graduation will begin at 6:30 on Friday, May 28 in the gym.

Thursday, June 4

„ Hopkins County Dairy Festival will be held June 5-13. The 2025 theme is 'Stars, Stripes, and Dairy Delights!' A Hot Air Balloon Glow will begin at 8 p.m., weather permitting, on Celebration Plaza.

Friday, June 5 „ Hopkins County Dairy Festival opening ceremony/ ribbon-cutting will be held at noon June 5 on Celebration Plaza. A Hot Air Balloon Rally and Glow will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 5, weather permitting, at Shannon Oaks Church.

Saturday, June 6

„ The Brashear Cemetery Annual Homecoming will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6, in Brashear Baptist Church Fellowship Building. Tom Mooney will be the speaker. A covered dish luncheon will follow. All are welcome to attend.

„ The Hopkins County Dairy Festival Parade begins at 10 a.m. at Buford Park following the traditional parade route to Brookshire's; Milking Contest for candidates, parents and balloon pilots begins at 3 p.m. at Sulphur Springs Livestock & Dairy Auction; Ice Cream Freeze-Off at 4 p.m. at Shannon Oaks Church; and Hot Air Balloon Rally and Glow at 6 p.m., weather permitting at Shannon Oaks Church.

„ South Liberty Cemetery will hold our annual Memorial Day Service and business meeting on Sunday, June 7 at 10:30am at South Liberty Baptist Church at 1637 CR 1144, Sulphur Springs, Texas. „ The Aiguier Cemetery Association is planning to have their annual meeting on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in the North Hopkins School Cafeteria, beginning with lunch at noon. Please make plans to bring a covered-dish and share a meal and memories. After lunch there will be a brief business meeting. Donations for the upkeep of the cemetery are always needed and appreciated. „ 2026 Lone Star Heritage Quilt Show “Threads of Freedom will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, and from 9 a.m. to 3 pm. Saturday, Sept. 19, at The ROC, 115 Putman St. in Sulphur Springs. Admission is $5; kids younger than 12 admitted free with adult. More than 100 quilts will be displayed. Raffle tickets for a chance to win the Celebrate USA 150!” quilt, designed and quilted by Wilma Moss, and stitched by LSHQG members are available for $1 each or six for $5. LSHQG is a 501(c)3 charitable organization; proceeds are donated to several facilities, organizations and charities.
