_ First United Methodist Church — Sulphur Springs hosts Mahjong, 1-4 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Storytime with Kate Davis is held each Tuesday, 10 - 11 a.m., in the Family Life Center beginning Sept. 8 and 9, Adam Hamilton Small Group Study at 6 p.m. Mondays and 2 p.m. Tuesdays at the church. A Grief Share support group for individuals grieving a loss is offered at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Sept. 9 at First United Methodist Church, Sulphur Springs. _ St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 1206 College St., holds 1 p.m. worship service with communion (in the Chapel) and 1:45-2:30 p.m. Bible study in Parish Hall. All are welcome.

Wednesday

_ Central Baptist Church offers Kids and Youth activities and ladies Bible study starting at 6 p.m.

_ Dinner Bell — The doors to Fellowship Hall at First United Methodist Church will open at 11 a.m. for fellowship and a free meal for any in need of one. Meal service begins at 11:30 a.m. and doors will close at 12:45 p.m. The menu for May 27 includes grilled hamburgers with all the trimmings, chips, baked beans and lemon sheet cake. The community partner for May 27 is Rotary Club of Sulphur Springs, started in 1925 by a group of movers and shakers practice “service above self” to benefit children, youth and those in need in the community. From scholarships and financial gifts to local charities, the Rotary Club continues giving to the community. The Annual “Claws for a Cause,” held in April, provides food and fun while raising money for college scholarships and other philanthropic projects. “The Dinner Bell has been blessed yearly since 2015 with the Rotarians grilling hamburgers for the star item on the menu on the last Wednesday of May. For their 'service above self,” the Dinner Bell is extremely grateful. Interested in learning more? Join them for a meeting, they meet every Thursday at Noon at First United Methodist Church. _ First United Methodist Church hosts Unshakable Hope small group study at 6 p.m. Wednesday, beginning Sept. 10. Wonderful Wednesdays will be held 6-7 p.m. and Kids Praise is 7-7:15 p.m. Wednesdays at FUMC.

_ St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 1206 College St., holds 10:30 a.m. Faith & Fun Storytime for preschool children; and 5:30 -7 p.m. Bible Study in St. Philip’s Parish Hall. Bring your dinner and join in.

Thursday

_ First United Methodist Church-Sulphur Springs hosts Pickleball, Open Gym from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Dominoes '42' and other games, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m in the Family Life Center. Women’s Bible Study Group Jen Wilkins Study, “God of Creation: A Study of Genesis 1-11,” will be held from 10 to 11:30 p.m. Thursdays beginning Sept. 11.

Friday

_ A Christian Recovery Group meets Fridays at 7 p.m. at New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church, 155 North Jackson St. in Sulphur Springs. For information, call the church office at 903885-0624 during regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

_ Cumby Food Pantry will be open 8 to 11 a.m. every Friday at 8285 Interstate 30 service road southwest in Cumby for families in Cumby, Hopkins County and surrounding areas who are in need. Sunday

_ Bibleway Lighthouse Church holds Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Wednesday evening service at 6 p.m. The church is located north of Sulphur Springs. Head north to Mahoney Road, then turn left on County Road 3236, then left onto County Road 4591. Call 903-440-1063 for more information. Interim pastor is Kenneth French.

_ Bible classes for all ages begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a worship service and KidZone at 10:30 a.m. at Central Baptist Church, 840 Connally St. at the intersection of Connally and League streets, across from Kids Kingdom in Buford Park.

_ First Baptist Church offers a Classic Service at 8:30 a.m., Bible Study at 9:45 a.m., Contemporary Service at 11 a.m. and Evening Worship at 6 p.m. Sundays.

_ First United Methodist Church's early contemporary worship service with band is held at 9 a.m. Sundays in the Fellowship Hall. The traditional service is held at 11 a.m., and Sunday School is held at 10 a.m. at the church, located one block north of Celebration Plaza at 301 Church St. www.ssfumc.org. _ Grace Global Methodist Church, established in 2023, holds a service each Sunday at 10 a.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home, located at 876 Wildcat Way in Sulphur Springs. Small groups meet at various times and locations throughout the week.

_ Immanuel Baptist Church, 605 Hillcrest Dr. in Sulphur Springs, offers Bible Study at 9 a.m. and a worship service at 10 a.m. Brother John Gandy is the pastor.

_ Martin Springs Baptist Church, 4368 State Highway 11 east, offers Sunday School at 10 a.m., worship at 11 a.m. and a Sunday evening service at 6 p.m.

_ Real Worshippers Ministries, a non-denominational Church accepting real people, with real life situations, experiencing a real God, is located at 1217 South Broadway, Suite Q. Pastor Calvin Hickerson, Jr., holds Sunday services, Monday Night Manna Bible Study and Thursday Mid-Week Hope services at 6 p.m.

Special Activities

_ Central Baptist Church will hold only one family worship service Sunday, May 24. There will be no Sunday school May 24.

_ Black Oak Baptist Church Homecoming will begin May 31, at 10:30 a.m. The day will include preaching, singing and lunch on the grounds; the church is providing lunch. The newly renovated Black Oak Baptist Church is located at 14440 FM 69 South in Como.

_ Sulphur Springs Work Camp will be conducted June 1-4. Hosted at The ROC this event is for youth in grades 6-12 who want to help bless families in the community by painting houses daily.
