They would come up with an overall score of 634, tying Bellville for ninth place.

SS falls behind 0-1 in series The Sulphur Springs Wildcats suffered a heartbreaking loss in Game One of their Bi-District playoff series against the Lindale Eagles Wednesday night, falling 5-4. Despite leading the majority of the game, the Wildcats couldn’t close the game out, as the Eagles scored five unanswered runs to take the lead in the series.

Panthers drop first game against L-K, 6-5

NH couldn’t close game out LONGVIEW — The North Hopkins Panthers suffered a disappointing loss in Game One of their Bi-District playoff series against the Linden-Kildare Tigers Wednesday at Longview High School, falling 6-5. Though they battled back to take the lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Panthers weren’t able to complete the comeback, as the Tigers won the game and took control of the series.

Interstate Body Shop to sponsor summer youth league

Interstate Body Shop has agreed to sponsor the summer youth league at JP’s Classic Lanes in Sulphur Springs. The generosity of Interstate’s proprietor, Chuck Sickles, will provide a great incentive for young bowlers to participate. Remember, these kids are the future of our sport and if they are encouraged early, it might just lead to a lifetime hobby of bowling. I’m sure many of us began bowling in junior leagues.

Four players score three runs each GILMER — The Saltillo Lions earned a hard fought victory Monday, rallying to beat the Yantis Owls 16-7 at Union Hill High School. After trailing 7-4 through the first four innings, the Lions responded with 12 unanswered runs to take home the win.
