Teresa Faye Hooten Carpenter

Teresa passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024.

Teresa was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas, July 17, 1951, to William Byrd and Ora Faye Hooten.

After graduating high school, she married Michael Carpenter. They lived in Texas, California and Washington state. Teresa returned to Texas around 2005, living off Mahoney Road, then CR 3511 back on Hooten land.

Teresa was preceded in death by her sister, Millie Shultz; niece, Courtney Shultz; her parents, William B. Hooten and Faye Murray.

She leaves behind her two sons, Christopher Carpenter and wife Patricia, and their three sons, Micah, Levi and Malachi; and Benjamin Matthew Carpenter and wife Desi; two sisters, Jamie McCauley and husband Cody and Mattie Jacobs and husband Bryan; and her uncle, Major Willis Jr. and wife Noni.

Burial will be at Mount Sterling Cemetery, off FM 1537 and County Road 3511.

A funeral service will be held at Mount Sterling Chapel at 3 p.m. Friday, April 26, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. that same day, at Tapp Funeral Home.
