What started as an animal complaint ultimately resulted in a Pickton teen being tased and arrested Tuesday afternoon.

Danny Ray Smith reportedly became angry and threatened to kill the neighbor he was told had shot his dog. The neighbor’s action was allegedly prompted by the canine attacking and killing his goats.

A deputy was told the youth has anger issues and asked to be at a County Road 2400 address when the teen was told. Smith reportedly slammed his fist into the outside of a trailer, then, threatened the neighbor who shot the dog, as he charges across the neighbor's residence.

Hopkins County Sheriff ’s Sgt. Todd Evans reportedly instructed Smith to stop, while pointing a Taser at the teen. Smith then allegedly toward the deputy, and took a fighting stance. He then later, began running across the street to the neighbor’s residence, making threats as he ran. Evans told the youth to stop. Smith did not follow the deputy’s command, so he was tased.

Smith fell to the ground, where he was placed into handcuffs, the deputy noted in arrest reports.

After he calmed down, the probes were remove from the teen. Smith refused medical treatment and was transported to jail, where he was booked on a Class A misdemeanor evading arrest or detention charge, according to arrest reports.
