Gary was a resident of the Hopkins County area for over 60 years and was a member of Brashear Baptist Church for 47 years. Over the years, he was self-employed as a dairyman, dump truck driver and carpenter, and retired from Ocean Spray.

Gary loved the outdoors, and enjoyed taking care of his cattle, gardening, playing golf and fishing. He could build or repair almost anything, from houses and barns to vehicles, farm equipment and boats. He was a quiet, humble family man who had a profound impact on all who knew him.

Gary was preceded in death by his, father Maxie Bolton, and his brother, Mark Bolton.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the first responders from Hopkins County and Cumby Volunteer Fire Department, the trauma and neuro ICU staff at Trinity CHRISTUS Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler, and the staff and volunteers at East Texas Hospice in Tyler for their diligent care and attention to our Daddy during these last few weeks.
