The Sulphur Springs High School administration team has been busy preparing for students to return to campus Tuesday, Aug. 22, the first official day of classes.

This week, SSHS administrators advsied students and parents that the master schedule, student and bell schedules were locked and would be temporarily unavailable for viewing to prevent confusion as changes are made. Schedules are expected to be finalized sometime next week. Any who attained a schedule prior to the lockout are asked to discard that schedule, as it is likely no longer correct.

All returning students must have all their information verified and the new 2023-2024 forms submitted in Skyward by a parent who is listed as 'Family One' before they can see their schedule.

Those who had completed all registration documents prior to Aug. 4 will need to complete and submit the 2023-2024 forms that were added Wednesday, Aug. 2, to complete that students' registration process. No exceptions will be made to this procedure, due to the nature and importance of the information contained in this enrollment process, school administrators noted.

Anyone who does not have access to a computer may use one at the high school from 8 to 11 a.m. or from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday to complete SSHS registration requirements.

No one will be permitted to copy a student schedule. Once a student’s enrollment is verified, the office will provide them with their schedule and other necessary information, the SSHS administrators noted.

To submit new student registration information, go to the SSHS web page at schools.ssisd.net/page/sshs. home, then look for “Student Schedule Changes.” After completing the form, click the “Submit to District” button.

While students involved in extracurricular activities have been reporting for practices and training for a few weeks now, others have begun making their way to the campus for other various activities. The high school parking lot has begun filling with brightly painted spots, one of the privileges of being an upperclassman.

One big day to keep in mind for SSHS is Friday, Aug. 18, which will be a full day of activities for students.

Fish Camp and new student orientation will be hosted from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the school cafeteria. Students will have the opportunity to tour the campus and walk their individual schedules from room to room. Students will receive a Wildcat t-shirt for attending Fish Camp and orientation.

From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. a Blood Drive will be hosted on campus; eligible students, staff and community members are invited to donate blood to help bolster local blood supplies at area banks.

From 1 to 5 p.m., parents parents are invited to attend Meet the Teacher.

Then, beginning at 7 p.m. will be a Meet the Wildcats Community Pep Rally at Gerald Prim Stadium. The SSHS Student Council is sponsoring a 'Fill the Truck” school supplies drive. Attendees can donate school supplies to fill the Code Blue truck.
