SS man arrested on aggravated sexual assault charge

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 42-year-old Sulphur Springs man on a charge of aggravated sexual assault at 12:23 a.m. Tuesday.

A female family member reportedly made an outcry to deputies regarding alleged aggravated sexual assault on Monday. Investigators determined the elements of aggravated sexual assault had occurred and sought a warrant for Charles Edward Horne, Jr.’s arrest.

Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Brad Cummings signed the warrant early Tuesday morning, and deputies served it at Horne’s residence.

Horne was transported to the Hopkins County Law Enforcement Center, where he was charged with aggravated sexual assault. Bond was set at $100,000, and Horne remains in custody, according to arrest reports and jail records.
