The Sulphur Springs Wildcats hosted Greenville Friday night in a district rematch. They won the first matchup on Feb. 11 by a score of 2-1.

The Wildcats entered the game coming off a pair of overtime wins agains Texas High and Royse City. Kevin Yanez scored first for the Wildcats on an assist form Christian Palomino. Uriel Santacruz scored the put-away goal. Alejandro Diosdado picked up the assist on the play.

“It was scrappy and ugly, but we keep pulling them out,” Coach Alexi Upton said. “I’m proud of the boys and proud of Uriel Santacruz. First goal on varsity as a freshman!”

The win makes Sulphur Springs 11-5-5 on the season and 5-1 in district play.
