FRISCO — After opening their weekend with a 1-1 tie against El Paso Montwood Thursday, the Wildcats continued their tournament Friday with a 5-1 loss to El Paso Eastlake.

David Moreno scored the lone goal for Sulphur Springs.

Later that night, the Wildcats took on Amarillo Caprock in the Ford Center in Frisco where the Dallas Cowboys practice and won 3-1. Omar Hernandez had a pair of goals, both coming off assists from Kevin Yanez and Manuel Esparza, who scored as well.

“Great game and an amazing opportunity to play in the Ford Center,” Coach Alexi Upton said. “Really, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

Sulphur Springs would end its weekend on Saturday with a 1-0 loss to McKinney North.

“Overall, it was an amazing experience. It was so great to tour the FC Dallas stadium and facility,” Upton said. “It is great to be in the Frisco tournament and play such high-level talent and compete against them.”
