The Sulphur Springs Wildcats notched two wins on the first day of the Spring Creek Tournament in Mansfield Thursday with a 68-63 win over A&M Consolidated and a 68-49 win over Mansfield.

In the A&M Consolidated game, Sadaidriene Hall led the scorers with 29 points while Cameron Kahn had 20 of his own. Other scorers included:

• Grayson McClure, 9 points

• Lamodrick Johnson, 7 points

• Boo Wilkerson, 4 points; and

• Justin Haire, 2 points

In the Mansfield game, the Wildcats showed off their depth as five players posted double-digit point totals. Wilkerson was the leading scorer with 13 points, and Haire, Kahn and McClure all posted 12 points apiece. Hall sunk 10 of his own. Other scorers included:

• Justin Brock, 5 points

• Caleb Alexander, 3 points; and

• Johnson, 2 points

“It was a complete team effort,” Head Coach Clark Cipoletta said about the game. “We moved the ball well and got ‘WE’ shots the whole game.”

The Wildcats move to 6-1 for the season and landed fifth overall in the tournament. The boys travel to Dallas-Wilson High School Tuesday next.
