Cumby and Como-Pickton will both be involved Friday in the final district game of the football season.

Cumby (6-3, 1-1) has already secured a playoff berth, as they trek to winless Era. The Cumby-Era game will kick off Friday at 7:30 p.m. and will be the end of the regular season.

“Era is a physical team, and we are traveling there to play on their Senior Night. They will be excited and will come out playing hard. We have to handle the travel and come out ready to play. The game doesn’t mean much in the district race, and we are going to be keeping a few players out due to health reasons,” said Tom Dracos, Cumby head football coach.

The Eagles of Como-Pickton (4-5, 2-1) are 36-point underdogs against Wolfe City (7-2, 2-1), as they conclude district play. Senior Night will be observed pre-game.

“Right now, we are in fourth place in district. A win against Wolfe City could possibly move us to third. We should play either Valley View or Tom Bean; we won’t know for sure until everything finishes Friday night,” said Ronnie Green, Como-Pickton head football coach.
