Teams enter final week of season

COMO-PICKTON

The Como-Pickton Lady Eagles enter the final week of their season with a pair of district games. On Tuesday, they host Cumby with the junior varsity beginning at 5 p.m. and varsity to follow. On Saturday, they travel to North Hopkins, where the junior varsity is set to begin at 10 a.m. with the varsity to follow.

CUMBY

The Cumby Lady Trojans, who have performed well all season, look to finish the season strong in their final two games. On Tuesday, they go to Como-Pickton, where the junior varsity will begin at 5 p.m. with the varsity to follow. On Friday, they host North Hopkins, who snapped their seven-game winning streak in their first matchup. That one is to to begin at 4:30 p.m. with the varsity following the junior varsity.

MILLER GROVE

The Miller Grove Lady Hornets are catching fire at the perfect time, currently riding a four-game winning streak. They enter their final week of the season against two opponents they have already beaten once. On Tuesday, they host Yantis for their senior night, in a varsity-only match beginning at 6 p.m. On Friday, they travel to Fruitvale, who they recently beat, 3-1. That one will begin at 5 p.m.

NORTH HOPKINS

The North Hopkins Lady Panthers have had their struggles throughout the season but have gotten hot as of late, picking up big wins against Cumby and Como-Pickton. They enter their final week of the season with a pair of home games and one on the road. On Tuesday, they face Alba-Golden for their senior night with the junior varsity beginning at 5 p.m. and the varsity to follow. They travel to Cumby Friday and will host Como-Pickton Saturday for a game beginning at 10 a.m.

SULPHUR BLUFF

The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears will have the tough task of finishing their season with a pair of road games next week. On Tuesday, they travel to Detroit, and on Friday, they go to Avery. Both games are set to begin at 4:30 p.m. with the junior varsity going first and the varsity to follow.

SULPHUR SPRINGS

The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats have started to find their stride, winning their last three games in a row, two of which were three-set sweeps. Next week, they have a pair of road games, starting with Tuesday’s matchup against Longview, where the freshman team will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the junior varsity and varsity to follow. On Friday, they go to Mount Pleasant, where it’s the varsity who will play first. They will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the junior varsity and freshman teams to follow.
