Sulphur Springs moves to No. 5 in the rankings
Big wins over Atascocita, Desoto gives them boost

Sulphur Springs adds to their impressive season, as they have now been moved up to No. 5 in 5A, according to the most recent update to the TABC Boys UIL Rankings.
After beating both Atascocita, who is now ranked No. 5 in 6A, and Desoto, ranked No. 13 in 6A, this past weekend, the Wildcats jump over 10 spots from last week’s update.
Sulphur Springs has had one of the toughest schedules of anyone playing five teams that are currently ranked in 6A and going 3-2 in the games with wins over Atascocita, Desoto and No. 6 Killeen wEllison.
The Wildcats still have three more non-district games left this season. They will play on Friday Jan. 3 at Princeton with the freshmen team, starting at 5 p.m., and the JV and Varsity to follow. On Tuesday Jan. 7, they will play in Sherman again with freshmen starting at 5 p.m. and the JV and Varsity to follow, and their final non-district game will be at home Friday Jan. 10 against McKinney North with the freshmen team starting at 5 p.m. and the JV and Varsity to follow. The Wildcats district schedule is:
