Stanley 3rd in 11Us; Mohesky, Lewis top 10 in HS boys division of ETJGT tourney

Sulphur Springs-area golfers claimed three top-10 finishes at the most recent stop of the East Texas Junior Golf Tour Monday afternoon.

Issac Stanley finished third overall in the 11 and under division, missing out on second place by only one stroke.

Alex Hammonds of Atlanta finished first after shooting 37 and Kylee Strickland of Mount Pleasant came in second with a score of 46.

In the high school boys division, Grant Mohesky finished in a tie for fourth with Holden Hester and Brady Sisk, both of Mount Pleasant.

The trio finished with a score of 88.

Easton Lewis finished 10th overall with a score of 92.

Matthew Peterson of Mount Pleasant just edged Jackson Stone, also of Mount Pleasant, for the title in Monday’s tournament.

Peterson shot 77 on the day while Stone carded a 78. Dalton Robertson of Red-water finished third with an 83.
