Sulphur Springs | Tennis

The Sulphur Springs Middle School tennis team recently beat the John Tyler Middle School team, 20-12.

"This is the first group of kids that have inspired me to work with them in the fall. Usually, we don't do any middle school workouts until April, and then we play in May. We have two tournaments in the fall and a couple of dual matches in November. What is fun about it this year is that I have the younger brothers and sisters of former high school players from the past six years," said Tony Martinez, Sulphur Springs tennis coach. "Just their excitement of the game gets me ‘fired up.’ Tradition does grow here at Sulphur Springs, and I am happy to be a part of it."

The SSMS tennis team will be hosting a middle school tournament Saturday, Nov. 2 at the tennis complex.
