Mistakes, inconsistency and bad breaks.

That sums up the Sulphur Springs Wildcats this year. On Nov. 1 the Wildcats once again saw

a first half lead disappear and they lost yet another district game.

At Kaufman on Senior Night for the Lions, the home team rallied

for 21-9 scoring burst in the second half to win 28-24.

The Wildcats got touchdowns from spirited running backs Caden Davis and "Choc" Sims in the first half and

a field goal from Brandon Zavala as they went up 15-7 at intermission.

Mistakes like turnovers, including two interceptions by the Wildcats opened the door for the Lions

and they came storming in. Kaufman quarterback Billy Pullen threw two touchdowns and also connected for a 2-point conversion to spark the win.

The only bright spots in the second half for the Wildcats in the final half was a scoring run by Sims and a 2-point conversion

return by Chase Haney.

The Lions scored the final 15 points of the game to secure the home win by the 28-24 final.

The football season ends for the Wildcats on Nov. 8 at home for Senior Night against North Forney. Senior

Night proceedings will be held prior to the 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

Como-Pickton lost at Bogata against district rival Rivercrest, 34-14.

Cumby had a happy Senior Night, rolling to a key district win, 34-6 over Tioga.
