Wildcats win big, post first victory
Sulphur Springs snapped a four-game losing streak by
pounding the Jackrabbits at Forney by a 32-13 score in district
action on Friday, Oct. 4. Da'Korian "Choc" Sims scored twice,
Brandon Zavala booted two field goals and Caden Davis
scampered into the end zone for the Wildcats. Quarterback
Kaden Wallace also scored on a touchdown run.
Sulphur Springs took a 13-0 lead at the half, thanks
to a stout defense. The Wildcats flew around like
zombies preparing for Halloween, as they whipped the
Forney squad. Chase Haney and Aiden Walker picked off passes.
Kylan Wade snagged an onside kick and harassed the
Jackrabbits all night.
Sulphur Springs could have won by a larger margin,
but had two touchdowns called back due to penalties.
The only scores for Forney were a pair of touchdown
passes from Campbell Anderson to Riley Murren
late in the game.
Forney fell to 2-4 overall, 1-3 in district.
After finally tasting victory, the Wildcats are 1-4
on the year, 1-2 in district. Sulphur Springs will
host Ennis on Friday, Oct. 11 at Gerald Prim Stadium.
Ennis is 5-1 overall, a perfect 4-0 in district.
The Lions downed Royse City, 38-21 on Oct. 4
