Pep rally set for youth football

The Sulphur Springs Youth Football and Cheer teams will be honored with a pep rally. The pep rally will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Sulphur Springs High School track and will be the official send off for the teams as they enter the playoffs. All three teams will be competing in the “Super Bowl” playoffs which begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lindale.

Cumby wins playoff game

The Cumby Lady Trojans took a 3-0 win over James Bowie in Tuesday volleyball playoff action. Cumby won by scores of 25-21, 25-20 and 25-18. Top hitters were Neely Hammond and Ashlyn Hudson. The team plays Beckville at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lindale for the area title.
