North Hopkins splits with Miller Grove

The Lady Panthers fell to Miller Grove in varsity play but won the junior varsity contest. Miller Grove took the varsity match, 25-13, 26-24 and 25-16 against the NH girls. Standouts for the Lady Panthers were Raylee Mathis with 17 kills and 7 points. Ashley Aguilar, Kourtney Ferrell, Madison Joslin and Kandice Lewis were listed by coach Danna Lewis as standouts for the Lady Panthers. In junior varsity volleyball, it was North Hopkins winning by scores of 18-25, 25-16 and 25-21.

Sulphur Bluff wins over Rivercrest

BOGATA — Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears won both varsity and junior varsity volleyball matches Tuesday, Sept. 17 against teams from Rivercrest. The varsity girls won 25-23, 25-21, 21-25 and 25-20. Hannah Byrd led the way with 15 service points, and Skylar Stanley had 10 kills and two blocks. The junior varsity took a 3-1 decision by scores of 18-25, 25-22 and 25-21. Standouts for the JV were Lydia Drummond with 12 points and nine kills and Taylor Wallis, Bailey Neal, Molly Kelley, Allie Easton, Destiny Johnson, Jasmine Wade and Kennedy Lambert.

Cumby defeats Fruitvale, 3-0

The Lady Trojans took a 3-0 decision in volleyball action Tuesday, Sept. 17 against Fruitvale. Cumby earned the victory by scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-16. Heather McCraw had 10 kills, Rylee Krotky 15 digs, and Erin Morgan contributed 21 assists in the game.
